Rudy and Selma’s project aims to develop an Android app to estimate cattle weight using images taken with a phone camera and a regression model. This solution addresses the significant time, labor, and financial costs associated with traditional weighing methods on expansive Western ranches. The app will provide ranchers with quick and easy weight measurements, reducing stress on cattle while enabling frequent, data-informed, decisions for sales contracts, rangeland health, and overall operations.
